Gorgias brought more than 250 direct-to-consumer founders to Nightingale for DTCx Retain 2023, and we set the Hollywood nightclub up as an eCommerce conference. Guests moved between the talks under the club's LED panels, the lounge, two outdoor patios and a bar front wrapped in Gorgias branding.

Talks and panels at Nightingale

They took their seats under LED panels running Los Angeles, CA graphics. One talk was titled Piloting Your DTC Business: Lessons from an Airbus Jet Pilot / Engineer Turned Entrepreneur, and another worked through communication cadence, staffing structure and company values.

Panels followed, headed Driving Retention through Customer Experience and Video Commerce: Unconventional Marketing Tactics and Breaking Through the Noise, with each panelist named on the screen behind them.

Between sessions founders worked from the club's blue tufted banquettes with laptops open, under the painted mural and the large round mirror that reflected the back bar.

The puppy pen on the Nightingale patio

Out on the patio a pen of puppies went up under the white fringed umbrellas, and attendees took turns holding them while the rest of the crowd stood close with drinks and phones in hand. A camera operator filmed interviews against the green hedge wall nearby.

The Gorgias bar

At the bar the Gorgias logo ran twice along the front, lit blue against the club's screens, with a Book a live demo sign on the counter and DTCx branded water bottles standing in front of it.

We also planned DTCx Retain LA, where giant light-up DTCX letters stood on the stage.
