Wonderland ran from the entrance to the tea station at this Alice in Wonderland party, starting with giant roses and a painted mushroom at the door.

Birch trees and fog at the entrance

A green runner led in between white birch trees wound with ivy, and low fog drifted over the floor at the entrance. Two framed signs stood there, a Cheshire Cat on one and, on the other, Alice's line "I knew who I was this morning, but I've changed a few times since then."

A long table strewn with book pages

Loose book pages covered the floor under a long wooden table set with cross-back chairs, teacups, open books, birdcage lanterns and tall vases of flowers. On the smaller tables, floral saucers held votive candles on moss beside "Drink Me" bottles, and a navy copy of Alice in Wonderland rested on a bed of moss.

Tea urns under an It's always Tea Time! sign

Three silver urns stood on a rustic table trimmed with moss for the tea station, with tea bags spread in front and small labels for hot water, cream and skim milk. A framed Mad Hatter print reading "It's always Tea Time!" sat at one end, a tiny teacup hanging from its corner. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party took tea outdoors, to pink tables by the water.
